Ohio Youth Ministries offers THREE different camps, with THREE different experiences, on THREE different weeks. OYM Summer Camps have been around 30 years and has been a staple of a great Ohio summer in the Ohio Ministry Network. Our camps take place at Heartland Conference Retreat Center. Heartland is a beautiful year-round Christian camp, conference and retreat center operated by the Ohio Ministry Network.

What does a week of camp look like?

Camp is possibly the best week of the summer. If you have done this before click the link below and register TODAY! If you are new to this camp thing feel free to check the steps below for a little help.

YOUTH PASTOR

Here is a step by step guide to help you as the youth pastor get your students signed up for camp. All Registration is done online.

REQUEST YOUR GROUP HOLD

If you are a group leader and need to reserve space at Camp for your church group, please request a Group Hold code. Once we receive and process your request, you will receive an email with the Group Hold code that is specific to your group. You can then send parents the link to register online along with the Group Hold code to use when registering.

Benefits of a Group Hold:

  • It allows parents to easily register online and the campers are then shown as registered as a part of your church group.
  • A Group Hold allows you to customize the Camp price that parents see. Need to add additional funds to cover transportation to and from Camp? No problem! We can add that for you. Or if your church will be paying a portion of the registration fee for each camper, we can customize the price your students’ parents see when they pay for camp.
  • A Group Hold allows you to hold space at your preferred Camp for your group. Please note that we will release any unfilled spaces within a Group Hold 1 month before each camp. You will be contacted via email when space needs to be released from your Group Hold.

Follow these steps to register your group for Summer Camp:

STEP 1 – Find out how many students will be attending camp.

STEP 2 – Request a group hold on our website for each camp. Group Holds will be active one a week after they are submitted.

STEP 2 – Send the Summer Camp website URL (oymnetwork.com/summer-camp) to parents along with the Group Hold code that corresponds with the correct camp that the student is attending so they can register student child online.

An email will be sent every Monday to the email listed on the Group Hold. This will show how many holds you have and the number you have registered. It will also give you each campers name and date they registered. If you have any questions about this report please email oym@ohioministry.net

Due to the large number of campers that attend OYM Summer Camps, all churches that bring groups of more than 5 are expected to provide Room Leaders for their campers. The preferred ratio is 1 adult Room Leader for every 7 students of the same gender. Depending on the size of your group Room Leaders may be with students that are NOT from your groups as well as the students in your group.

Example: 3 male campers and 8 female campers in the group will mean the church must bring 1 male Room Leader and 2 female Room Leaders.

REMINDER


It is highly recommended that church groups secure transportation for their campers to and from camp that will NOT include Support Staff as drivers. All Camp staff and Support Staff must report to camp for setup and training on the Sunday night before Camp and therefore cannot be available to drive campers to Camp on Monday.

Heart for Ohio participating churches receive a $25 discount per camper. The discount will be applied to the church’s group hold automatically. If your church is on the list and you’re registering as an individual please complete you registration, then contact our office at 614-396-0734 to have the discount applied before making your payment.

Parents who choose to use our online camper registration option may either pay in full or make payments. A $50 non-refundable deposit per camper per week of camp is required to officially register the camper. If payment is not in full by the deadline, the next registration rate will apply. Payments are not automatically charged to your credit card. You will need to log in to your camp registration account each time you want to make a payment. Payments (minus $50 deposit) can be refunded at the parents request before June 1st.

No payments can be refunded for any reason after June 1st.

If a camper is unable to attend camp due to illness, injury, or schedule conflict, the parent may request the funds be transferred to another campers account for the current year of camps or to the same campers account for the next years camps.

Depending on if your student is going with a group or if they are going individually make the appropriate plans to get your student to camp. 

Registration for Summer Camp is Monday morning from 9:30-11:30AM at Oakwood Lodge. Campers can be dropped off at any point during that time. If you have any other questions about what to expect see the button below. 

SUPPORT STAFF

Apply to be on the Team

OYM Summer Camp could not happen without willing leaders. We are excited to have Youth Pastors and Youth Leaders from all over the state praying over and pouring into the students that come to OYM Summer Camps. Make sure to apply below!

Applicants must be at least 20 years of age to volunteer at Combined Youth Camp and High School Camp, at least 18 years of age to volunteer at Middle School Camp.

The cost for Support Staff (Room Leaders) registration is $75 per person.

This fee covers the mandatory background check as well as the cost of housing and meals for the week of camp.

After you apply to be Support Staff at OYM Summer Camps it will take up to two weeks for us to review your application. Upon approval of your application you will receive an email letting you know whether you have been approved or not.
Some of our camps fill up faster than others when it comes to Support Staff and there are limited spots to serve. Please wait for your approval email before making plans to attend camp. After Support Staff positions are filled we will start to fill other positions that are needed at camp. This is including but not limited to Security, Dorm Stewards, SUMO’s. etc.

You have been approved to join us at Summer Camp this year. Yay!

There are a few things that you need to do to get yourself ready to attend camp. You will need to arrive at camp on Sunday and will be there till Friday afternoon. Make sure that you have bedding, clothes, snacks, room decorations, and so much more for the entire week.

If you are accepted to be a Support Staff to one of the OYM Summer Camps you MUST attend our Sunday Night Training. Plan to get to Heartland a little before 7:00pm and get yourself ready for a powerful week at camp with students from all over Ohio. We will have a training meeting that will go over the camp schedule, safety procedures, camp teams, and so much more. This training is a vital part of the success for the week and we don’t want you to miss it.
